Fusion

While it may not be as open-ended as its predecessor Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion is still a masterclass in atmospheric storytelling. In some ways it manages to capture that helpless, claustrophobic feeling that the Alien movies originally inspired in the series. It’s easily one of the best games on the GBA. I wanted to do a drawing of Samus in her blue fusion suit with a big imposing SA-X in the background. Almost as if its ever-present and all consuming. That’s how they are represented in the game afterall.
